Mission Statement
We recognize that honors programs are defined and implemented on many levels within and throughout the campuses and the UC system. We celebrate both our similarities and our differences. We are committed to the spirit and process of collaboration as we seek to improve existing programs and services to honors students.
Who Are We?
The UC Honors Consortium is a system-wide organization that welcomes participation from advisors, coordinators, and directors from any UC honors program. The purpose of our group is to provide both the opportunity and mechanism for colleagues in honors programs across the UC system to connect and collaborate.
The Consortium is chaired by a steering committee which includes representatives from each UC campus. The primary responsibility of the steering committee is to plan the annual conference, which is hosted the day before the UC Academic Advisors Conference. The goals for the conference are
- To share information on the structure(s), best practices and challenges of UC honors programs
- To encourage collaboration between intra- and inter-campus honors programs
- To learn more about national trends in honors education
- To bring back ideas for improvements for our individual honors programs
