MINI DEGREE AUDIT MEETING
November 20, 1995
In attendance:Barbara Barefield,Todd Clopine,Nancy Groves, Roy Hermer, Lea Mizumoto
- Subcommittee assignments and charges were discussed. It was decided that for the
present, two subcommittees would be needed:
- Subcommittee to review the present system. Members: Roy & Todd. This
subcommittee will compile the specifications on the present system and generate
a list of desired enhancements. Todd will collect college input on enhancements
through the 5 College Users Group.
- Subcommittee to review any other identified degree audit packages including
but not limited to: Univ of Miami, Ohio - DARS, Univ of Delaware - SIS Plus,
and Pepperdine Univ - ASAP.
- Roy noted a few corrections/changes to the draft of the minutes of the
November 13th ISIS Global Degree Audit Committee Meeting. Nancy volunteered
Helen Gunn to take minutes at future Global meetings and then publish
them on the Degree Audit Home Page. Lea will send Helen the corrected minutes.
Helen will send an Email to members with a copy to all department contacts
for their information, with a cover letter asking those who need a paper copy of
the information to identify themselves.
- Lea will develop a Listserve from the contents of the Participants Page on
the Web site.
- It was decided that future meetings would be arranged by CCMail or phone,
and that usage of OnTime Calendar did not appear to be the best option.
- It was announced that Richard Backer, on behalf of the ISIS Enhancement
Committee, will write a letter to the Colleges & Departments requesting their
support in this Degree Audit project and stressing its importance to the
entire university community.
- The contents of Lea's draft memo to departments were discussed. It was
decided to include a statement that if you were not called upon to serve on
the present subcommittees, more support and participation would be needed
later. It was also suggested that we try to identify subcommittees and
their time commitment rather than ask for amounts of time that participants
could commit. Finally, it was noted that we should ask departments for
information about their technical support, their access to the Web and what
type of ISIS-USER they were. Lea will re-draft and send for comments.
