The meeting was convened by Nancy Groves, Co-Chair. Members were asked to
introduce themselves, noting their department.
Roy Hermer, Co-Chair, demonstrated the use of the World Wide Web Degree
Audit home page. This demo included identifying the location of today's agenda
and how to access it and the location for future agendas, minutes and other
pertinent information.
Roy presented an overview of the Degree Audit Project - where we are,
where we are going and how we intend to get there. He also reviewed the
first step in the project which included: Update the needs' analysis,
investigate the current system, investigate other systems presently in use by
other universities and report back.
The "Planning Strategy for the Degree Audit System" document was distributed
and reviewed.
Linda Piercy then demonstrated the Student Browser on Darwin, the class
list, wait list and course information. The demonstration was intended to show
what can be developed for the Degree Audit System.
Roy continued the meeting by asking committee members to complete the "Degree
Audit Project-Information Sheet" and send it to him. Roy also asked members to
make copies for other appropriate members of their departments and ask them to
complete and return it to him. Roy asked members to include their availability
and willingness to serve on subcommittees.
Since there were no questions on the "Planning" document, the appropriate
members were asked to sign the "Planning Strategy for the Degree Audit System"
Project Approvals page to give to the ISIS Enhancement Committee. This would
then allow Roy to implement the planning strategy. Barbara Hardifer then
explained that the ISIS Enhancement asked that the development of the entire
Degree Audit project be divided into smaller parts in order to proceed with
the project and continue with needed projects on the ISIS prioritized list.
Roy thanked all for their participation.
Postscript to the meeting: To obtain access to the Student Browser information
on Darwin you will need to obtain access approval via an "ACT Access Request"
form. You will also need Omnis software.
