Where do I get a parking permit?

Orientation Leaders will be greeting you at the entrances of the Pangea Parking Structure during your check-in time. Your one-day parking pass is valid in spaces painted with yellow squares with a black "S" on the ground or spaces painted with green squares with a black "B" on the ground. You must circle the appropriate date on your pass and display on the driver-side dash.

Should you arrive and miss the orientation greeters, please use the coin operated meters located on the top floor and ask for a parking pass at check-in. If you arrive after check-in, please purchase a permit at the Northpoint Visitor Information Center, just east of North Torrey Pines Road. http://maps.ucsd.edu/.

*Parking regulations are strictly enforced on campus. ERC is not responsible for any parking citations issued to you.*
You can appeal your parking citation by visiting http://www.parking.ucsd.edu.

What if my parents can't come to orientation? Will I be the only one there without parents?

No, don't worry! Though we strongly encourage your parents to participate in our Family Program during Orientation, we understand that they may have other commitments, and their participation is not mandatory. In fact, many students will be participating in Orientation without their parents. If your parents aren't able to attend, we encourage you to share the information you learned at Orientation with them once you return home. Also, every family unable to attend Orientation will be sent an ERC Parent's Handbook by the end of the summer. Also, every family unable to attend Orientation can access the family guide online at http://roosevelt.ucsd.edu/families/.

Will I get to stay in my Residence Hall at Orientation? Do parents and students stay together?

During June Orientation, you will stay in an ERC residence hall, though not necessarily the same hall that you will live in during your freshman year (if you've successfully applied for on-campus housing). If you attend Orientation during September, you will stay in your actual room if you have received an on campus housing contract. In June, relatives are housed apart from students and the dorms are segregated by gender. If your parents plan to stay on campus during June Orientation, you must all pack separately. Unfortunately, we do not have accommodations available to parents on campus in September.
