Resources for Current Students
Thurgood Marshall College (named in 1993 after the first African-American Supreme Court Justice) offers you an opportunity to grow, to learn, to challenge yourself and your view of the world, to reach out to and express solidarity with others, and to become an active and engaged member of a community, not just a passive observer. You are an integral part of the Marshall College family, which includes students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community. We are committed to the common goal of making the world a better place for everyone, not just a privileged few. Just as at the founding of the college, your participation and involvement are critical to our collective success.
The college resource for scholarship pertaining to your general education requirements is the Academic Advising Office. This is a highly accessible and knowledgeable group of professionals who help keep you on track as you aim to complete your undergraduate degree. The college resource for scholarship pertaining to TMC’s core curriculum is the Dimensions of Culture program, an introduction into what it means to be a scholar and citizen of Marshall College required of all first-year students. “DOC” focuses on developing skills of reasoned argumentation and written expression as applied to social and cultural issues. Your main resource for citizenship at TMC is the Student Affairs Office, including Residential Life and a variety of organizations for transferring commuter students. Student Affairs places a high priority on getting all members of TMC involved at the college, campus, community, state, national and global levels, and sponsors all of our college social and cultural events.
