THURGOOD MARSHALL COLLEGE Developing the Scholar and Citizen |
In celebration of Thurgood Marshall College’s 40th anniversary and the college’s unique ties to The Preuss School UCSD, the Marshall Student Council helped to create the Essay and Art Contest for Preuss Middle and High School students. Preuss Vice-Principal Pete Selleck helped the Marshall Student Council coordinate the competition and the results were quite superb! Winner entries for each category and age group received a UCSD Bookstore Certificate and have been invited by the college for a special luncheon at the UCSD Faculty Club on June 1, 2011 with former Marshall Provost Cecil Lytle and current Provost Allan Havis. Provost Emeritus Lytle is widely credited for the creation of the Preuss school and served as the first Chair of the Preuss School Board of Directors.
