2012 Freshman Orientation Leader Applications & Info Session: Did you love Orientation? Do you want to be a leader at Muir? Help welcome the new freshmen into the JMC community! The Muir College Freshman Orientation Leader applications are available on Port Triton (search by using ID#750087 or typing in "Muir OL”). You must submit all your application materials to the Muir Advising Office in HSS 2126, no later than 4p.m. on Friday, January 27th.

Triton Day (formally Admit Day): Are you energetic, enthusiastic, and loving your college experience? Do you love to plan events and get involved? Then join the Triton Day Committee! Attention Transfer Students: Apply to be a Muir College Transfer Orientation Leader! If you love Muir, want to meet new people, and build your leadership skills at the same time, apply to be a Transfer Orientation Leader. The Transfer O.L. position will help you enhance your leadership skills and strengthen your resume/graduate school application while having fun!
Qualifications:
- Must complete 36 UCSD units by the end of the Spring Quarter
- Must have basic knowledge of Muir's General Education requirements and involvement opportunities
- Must be knowledgeable of the transfer student experience
Applications are available beginning February 1 via Port Triton: The deadline to submit a Transfer OL application is Tuesday, February 21st by 4p.m. Please contact Ann Hawthorne, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, with

John Muir Week: Muirons! Get down to your roots and be part of the John Muir week committee! Help plan a series of activities in celebration of John Muir's birthday and his legacy as an environmentalist – and make the week fun and meaningful for Muir. John Muir week coincides with Earth Week and culminates with Muir's annual music festival, Muirstock, on Friday, April 20th. If you are interested in being a part of the committee, please email Sophia no later than Friday February 3rd.

- Greetings Muir Commuters! Are you hungry and looking for fun people to be with on campus? Come join M3C during our weekly free breakfasts every Wednesday morning from 8:30-10:30a.m. in Half-Dome Lounge. Join the M3C action for our weekly meetings every Friday at 11a.m. also in Half-Dome.
- Muir Eventual Doctors (M.E.D.) will be meeting this Wednesday at 5p.m. on the 11th floor of Tioga. We will have the pleasure of hearing Justin Tan, a radiology resident, speak to us at our meeting. Snacks will be provided!

W.A.M is hosting a chess tournament from now until February 10th. The last two winners will challenge each other in a game of HUMAN CHESS on February 11th. The Grand prize for the final winner will be $100 and an ice cream party for their House!
